A letter would not read
Photograph the whole page in good light, flat, with all four corners in frame. If the letter runs over more than one page, add each page in the same scan so it is read as one document. If it still fails, the letter was not charged for — your allowance is put back automatically.
The date or amount looks wrong
Klartext is an automated reading aid and it can be wrong. Always check against the letter itself. If it misread something, email us the details and, if you are comfortable doing so, a photo of the letter with your personal details covered.
Restoring a purchase
On a new device, open Klartext, go to the paywall and tap Restore, signed in to the same Apple Account. Your subscription is tied to that account.
Managing or cancelling a subscription
Subscriptions are managed by Apple: apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Reminders are not arriving
Klartext asks for notification permission the first time you save a letter that has a deadline. If you declined, turn it back on in iOS Settings → Klartext → Notifications. Reminders fire at 09:00, seven days, three days and one day before the deadline, and on the day itself.
Deleting your data
Letters live only on your device — deleting the app deletes them. To also delete the anonymous record of what you have paid for, email us from the device.
